Jade Passage Enamel Necklace & Earring Set
Rich color, pattern and texture come together in the Jade Passage Enamel Necklace & Earring Set, a one-of-a-kind design with a subtle Asian-inspired aesthetic.
At the center of the necklace is a hand-worked copper square, first embossed to create a dimensional surface and then kiln-enameled in green. Set on its point, the 1 3/4-inch focal becomes a diamond-shaped centerpiece, with the embossed pattern remaining visible beneath the enamel and adding depth and character to the fired surface.
The focal is surrounded by an eclectic combination of glass and natural stone beads in complementary colors, shapes and patterns. The varied beadwork gives the necklace a collected, almost textile-like quality, while recurring colors throughout the design bring the individual elements together.
Coordinating earrings carry the design through with diamond-shaped green enameled copper components accented by complementary glass beads. Pops of color echo the richly varied beadwork of the necklace while allowing the earrings to have their own distinctive character. Finished on silver-plated leverbacks, the earrings measure approximately 2 inches in overall length.
The necklace measures approximately 21 inches, plus the 1 3/4-inch enameled focal drop.
As with all of Timothy’s enamel work, variations created during the firing process are part of the character of the finished piece, making Jade Passage uniquely its own.
