From the first pencil line to the final firing, Whimsy Bloom is a celebration of the handmade process.
Timothy began by drawing the five-petal flower design, then transferred each shape to copper before hand-cutting, filing and sanding the individual forms. The flowers were then built up through four separate enamel color applications, creating soft layers of blush, cream and warm golden-pink across the surface.
Above each flower sits a distinctive hand-blown lampwork glass bead created by another artist, accented with Czech glass seed beads. The playful dimensional glass provides a wonderful counterpoint to Timothy's softly enameled flowers—and brings the work of two individual makers together in one pair of earrings.
Finished with silver-plated leverbacks, the earrings measure approximately 2" in overall length.
